All hail the Crimson King!!!

I was wondering why most successful people have less and less children nowadays. I find this phenomenone rather strange as it does not really abide the laws of nature. If the theory of natural selection holds, successful people should have more children so that they can pass down the factors which made them successful to their children, be it diligence, intelliegence or perseverence to make the human race better at whole.
However this is usually not the case. Retarded people are now having children by the busload and are allowed to have MANY wives, while constantly complaining that the government doesn’t pay them well enought to feed their kids, demanding pay rises for the minimal amount work they do every now and then.
Then, I was contemplating the fact that perhaps having less children is the key to success as by doing so you are able to save up more money and focus more on expanding your carreer. I am now hoping that the latter fact holds more truth then the former, otherwise given the current trend and the rapid development of science and technology, perhaps there will come a day where the human brain will not be able to keep up with our understanding of our technology and throw the human race back into the dark ages.
I got that idea from the "Dark Tower" novels by Stephen King, which is set in a timeline much much later in the future which is unlike that portrayed by Star Wars, but rather a depleted, desert like world where the knowledge of operating machineries were lost somewhere in time, giving the era a "Western" feel. Its about the quest of a "gunslinger" which is something like a policeman in our time i think, in search for the Dark Tower, which is built in the zennith of technological achievements to hold the world together. However, degeneration of the machinary has caused the Dark Tower to fail gradually, bringing about the destruction of the world. There is also a villian called the "Crimson King" who has bent his will on breaking the Dark Tower so that he could reign supreme in the fit chaos and anarchy brought about by the falling of the Dark Tower. The whole series consist of 7 books and i just finished the 6th book last week. It will provide a rather interesting read for those who enjoyed reading books like "The Lord of the Rings".
